HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!

MARCH 18, 2009 MY DAD WOULD HAVE TURNED 72. WOULD HAVE BEEN PRETTY SWEET BUT IT DIDN'T TURN OUT THAT WAY. I DIDN'T WANT TO GET UP THAT MORNING OR GO TO WORK BUT I'M A MAN NOW AND I UNDERSTAND THAT LIFE HAS TO MOVE. I CHOOSE TO MOVE WITH IT INSTEAD OF BEING ISOLATED AND DEPRESSED. SURE I WISH I COULD CALL HIM AND CHECK IN AND EVERYTHING BUT IT'S COOL AND I'M FINE WITH HIM BEING GONE. I'M GLAD TO BE ABLE TO SMILE ON DAYS LIKE TODAY AND LAUGH ON DAYS LIKE TODAY AND ENJOY ON DAYS LIKE THIS ONE EVEN THOUGH I'M NOT SUPPOSED TO. I'M SAD ALSO MORE ABOUT OTHER SIBLINGS AND FRIENDS WHO KNOW AND SHARE SUCH A LOST AND IT SADDENS ME TO NOT BE ABLE TO PUT MY ARMS AROUND ALL OF THEM. THEY ARE SCATTERED ALL AROUND THE WORLD.

I STILL BAKED AND YOU WOULD HAVE LOVED MY BROWNIES. ONE PAN STAYED HOME AND THE OTHER EVERYONE ELSE DUG INTO. INSTEAD OF GOING TO POPEYE'S CHICKEN OF RED LOBSTER, I WOULD HAVE MADE A HOME COOKED MEAL AND WE WOULD HAVE FOUND SOME BOXING MATCH OR SOME MOVIE TO WATCH AS WE LICKED OUR FINGERS AND SPARRLED ON THE COUCH FIGHTING SLEEP.

I LOVE YOU, I MISS YOU, I'M STILL KEEPING MY PROMISE...
